We pride ourselves on working with the latest speech pathology technology to improve your child’s therapy experience
For some time, the team at Harrison Speech Pathology have recognised and actively applied as appropriate, the effective use of modern technology to assist communication and support cognitive impairment of individuals of all ages with a disability or special needs. This has generated tremendous value to our clients and their families.
In particular, the team have focused on the use of iPad technology and continues to assist clients with their initial setup and use through to ongoing development and integration with other clinical practices.
Harrison Speech Pathology is proficient with the use and customisation of Proloquo2Go – an Augmentative and Assistive Communication application. Proloquo2Go supports the growth of communication skills and language development. Harrison Speech Pathology utilises Proloquo2Go and similar apps for effective treatment of a wide range of communication impairments and a variety of fine-motor, visual and cognitive skills.
The incorporation of technology in intervention is particularly relevant, not just for people with a disability such as Autism, but in circumstances where individuals have been affected by neurological impairments, such as stroke, which have had a significant impact on the ability of the individual to communicate with family and carers.
